Nick Ormsby grew up in the Riverland working in a large variety of fruit crops and doing broadacre farming at Pinnaroo. When the drought hit, he moved north. He wasn't looking to build an empire, he was just looking for work.
In 2009, Nick started Northern Hedging and Contracting with one machine, a 44-gallon drum of diesel, and a simple arrangement with his first clients.
Fund the fuel and we'll get started.
That was the foundation. Everything since has been built on the same principle: show up, do the work, do it right.
Nick spent the next decade building NHAC into the most trusted horticulture contracting business in the NT and East Kimberley.

In 2017, he and Whitney bought Razor Rock Farm on the outskirts of Katherine, a mango operation that keeps them close to the work their clients do every day.
By 2022, the cotton industry was expanding rapidly across the NT, NTB moved in to meet that demand. Starting with two tractors, the business has grown to cover the full scope of broadacre cropping services, from land preparation through to harvest.
The NTB team has now serviced over 10,000 hectares across a 550km radius around Katherine.
The business has always been built around one thing:
The small things matter, communication delivers precision, we do what we say we will do.
Clients come back season after season because they know the job will get done. That reputation has been built over fifteen years and it's not something neither business takes lightly.
